Notifications, email and your calendar
The in-app inbox, what arrives by email, the daily summary, and subscribing your calendar to campaign dates.
7 min read
Everything this product tells you arrives in two places: your in-app inbox, which keeps a permanent copy, and your email, which reaches you where you already are. You control the second one. You can turn deadlines into a calendar subscription as well, so a date lives in the place you actually look at dates.
The in-app inbox
Top barNotifications holds every notice raised for you, newest first, with an amber count while anything is unread. Every email the product sends you also lands here, so a message a spam filter ate is still recoverable.
Nothing is ever held back from the inbox. Whatever you set your email to do, a notice appears here the moment it happens.
What arrives by email
By default each notice arrives as its own email. Wording comes from your organization's templates, so what you receive is what an administrator wrote, not a product default. See Admin modules for the editor and the log of every send.
| You are told about | When |
|---|---|
| A campaign invitation | The campaign opens, or you are added to one that is already open. |
| A deadline reminder | On the schedule the buyer set for that milestone, usually a few days out and again the day before. |
| A decision on your lines | When the buyer sends decisions. One email covers every line decided in that pass. |
| A request for more detail | The buyer asks for a detail form against specific lines. |
| A comment on a line | Someone on the other side writes on a line you can see. |
| Access to reopen a line | A buyer grants or refuses a request to edit after submission. |
One summary a day
If you take part in many campaigns, one email per event is a lot of email. In Your nameSettingsEmail you can choose One summary a day instead, and pick the hour it arrives. The hour is read in your own timezone, the one set just above it on the same screen.
What a summary looks like
ACME Foods: 3 updates today
Switching back to one email per update sends whatever the summary was holding, as one last summary. Nothing collected is lost.
Subscribe to your dates
Your nameSettingsCalendar gives you a URL your calendar can subscribe to. It carries the deadlines and milestones of every campaign you take part in. Move a deadline and it moves in your calendar, usually within half an hour: it is a live subscription, not a download.
Create the feed
Press Create my calendar feed. A URL appears. Copy it.Add it as a subscribed calendar
In Outlook, Add calendar then Subscribe from web. In Google Calendar, Other calendars then From URL. In Apple Calendar, File then New Calendar Subscription.Revoke it if you need to
Generate a new URL stops the old one working immediately, and Turn off stops all of them.
If you hold more than one brand
A broker representing several suppliers gets one summary per brand, never one email carrying two. The same rule applies everywhere else in the product: a notice is about one brand, so it can be filtered out when you narrow your screen to a single client. See The supplier's walkthrough for the screen filter.
| Setting | One brand | Two brands |
|---|---|---|
| One email per update | One email per event | One email per event, each about one brand |
| One summary a day | One email a day | Two emails a day, one per brand |
| Calendar feed | One subscription | One subscription, covering both brands' campaigns |
